Soil adsorption/ desorption

Adsorption/ desorption studies are designed to evaluate the adsorption and the desorption of a chemical on different soil types with a varying range of organic carbon content, clay content, soil texture and pH.

The method is aimed at predicting partitioning under a variety of environmental conditions.

Different soil types are used in order to cover as widely as possible the interactions of a given substance with naturally occurring soils.

The results can be used in the prediction of the mobility of a chemical and its distribution in the soil, water and air compartments of the environment.
